International press packed Gotham’s Little Italy haunt Il Cortile Feb. 10 to steal a look at EA’s “The Godfather” vidgame, in which the player controls an up-and-coming mobster whose life intersects with the trilogy’s plotlines.
“You don’t save Sonny (Corleone) at the tollbooth, but you might be able to exact revenge on those guys who shot him up,” said game’s exec producer David DeMartini.
Before he died, Marlon Brando lent his voice to the game — a rare job for the notorious diva.
Of the great Don Vito, DeMartini recalled. “He was able to project forward and say, ‘So if I could do more of these sessions, I could lend my voice and acting skills to a role without having to physically be on set.’ “
