FremantleMedia eats Danish Blu

Company to take 75% stake

AMSTERDAM — FremantleMedia has agreed to take a 75% stake in soon-to-be-launched Danish production outfit Blu.

Fremantle had a four-year development deal with Blue Entertainment and the new outfit will be a reincarnation of that, but launched solely as the first production arm of FremantleMedia in Scandinavia.

Blue Entertainment was founded in 2001 in a development agreement between FremantleMedia and Blue CEO Henrik Hancke Nielsen and director/co-owner Per Zachariassen.

In addition to creating its own formats, Blue has cranked out a number of FremantleMedia shows, among them “Idols” and “How Clean Is Your House?”
