'Property Ladder,' 'Sex Inspectors' among shingle's shows
CANNES — FremantleMedia has signed an exclusive output deal with Daisy Goodwin’s London-based production company Silver River to distribute the latter’s domestically produced shows and formats outside of the U.K.
Deal was unveiled by the distrib at Mipcom Wednesday.
Goodwin set up Silver River in July in partnership with former Talkback comedy editor Harry Thompson and private investment company Sienna Associates. The company has a slate of projects in development with various U.K. broadcasters.
FremantleMedia has a track record of turning Goodwin’s factual programming into hits outside the U.K. During her time as editorial director at Talkback, Fremantle licensed and produced local versions of “Property Ladder,” “How Clean Is Your House?” and “The Sex Inspectors” in numerous territories.
Goodwin’s “How Clean Is Your House?,” now in its third series on Channel 4 in Britain, is one of FremantleMedia’s most traveled factual entertainment series. The U.S. version has been sold by Fremantle Intl. Distribution to broadcasters in 16 territories.
Following its popularity on Channel 4, FID sold the U.K. series of “The Sex Inspectors” to HBO in the U.S.
