Fox TV Studios has gone outside the traditional Hollywood realm to seal a first-look deal with irreverent ad agency Crispin Porter + Bogusky, the firm behind Burger King’s surreal ad campaign.
FTVS will get first crack at properties created by Crispin Porter + Bogusky for scripted and unscripted series.
“Our goal is to create franchises and find innovative ways of reaching the audience,” FTVS prexy Angela Shapiro-Mathes said. “In order to do that, we’re bringing in the most talented people we can identify from all over the world.”
That includes Crispin Porter + Bogusky, which drew notice last year after creating Burger King’s Subservient Chicken Web site. The Subservient Chicken became an Internet phenom. Agency also has been behind marketing for BMW’s MiniCooper and the antismoking campaign Truth.
The Miami-based agency’s clients include Google, Virgin Atlantic, Molson and Victoria’s Secret.
Crispin Porter + Bogusky was named 2004’s agency of the year by Advertising Age.
