Fox has signed thesp John Cho (“Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle”) to a talent deal.
Under the deal, valued in the mid-six figures, Fox and sib studio 20th Century Fox TV will develop a potential comedy vehicle for Cho.
The actor is already signed on to star in at least eight episodes of “Kitchen Confidential,” the new single-camera Fox laffer set in the New York restaurant world. Cho plays Teddy Wong, one of the chefs brought in by Jack Bourdain (Bradley Cooper) to help open a new hot eatery.
If a Cho series comes to fruition, his managers, Principato-Young Entertainment, will also be involved. Cho starred in the short-lived WB laffer “Off Centre,” and was a lead on NBC’s “Men’s Room,” which was picked up but never aired.
In the feature world, besides starring with Kal Penn as one-half of the “Harold & Kumar” stoner duo, Cho’s credits include the drama “Better Luck Tomorrow.” He also appeared in all three “American Pie” movies (the first one credited as “MILF guy”), as well as “Solaris” and “Big Fat Liar.” Cho and Penn were nominated for an MTV Movie Award this year foronscreen team.
