Celebs let the chips fall
WHAT: Fox’s “Fall Launch Party” Monday, celebrating the return of the network’s primetime lineup after the baseball playoffs and the World Series
WHO: Fox Entertainment prexy Peter Liguori welcomed a throng of network talent, including much of “The OC” cast; “Bones” stars David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel; “Stacked’s” Pamela Anderson; “House” stars Hugh Laurie and Sela Ward; and “Prison Break’s” Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell
WHERE: Hollywood’s Cabana Club
THE CAUSE: In the spirit of the casino theme, partygoers were given $600 in fake Fox bucks to play at the tables. Network talent like Frankie Muniz hit the blackjack tables, while other stars tried the “Luck of the Draw” table — where they turned over cards marked with various dollar amounts. That money was matched by News Corp., with a grand total of $98,540 going to various charities.
THE PRODUCT: Swiffer, which raised $10,500 for Habitat for Humanity at the bash, plugged its new Carpet Flicker, which several attendees tore out of the box. Liguori had fun showing off his new Swiffer, carrying it around the party for a few minutes. “I actually really like this thing,” he said.
