HOLLYWOOD — Pooches shared the red carpet with thesps Diane Lane, Stockard Channing and Dermot Mulroney Thursday at Warner’s “Must Love Dogs” preem.
The four-legged frenzy continued at the after-party atop the Arclight Cinemas parking lot, where man’s best friend was ubiquitous among the revelers.
Trying to work in the “dog” theme in two ways, Mulroney said, “I’m going home to my dog.”
Then, when pressed about his role as the two-timing Lothario in the pic, he joked, “Yeah, all my friends know I’m a dick. I got to tap into my inner dick with this movie — in a clean way.”
Lane, who’d just sat through three days of press junkets for the pic, was happy not to be queried about the pic’s other dominant subject, Internet dating. For her, “Must Love Dogs,” was a chance to try a new genre. “Comedy is labor,” she admitted, “but I was delighted to do something that was very fresh for me.” Unable to attend was Lane’s onscreen leading man, John Cusack, who is in Bulgaria lensing “The Contract.”
