Bell Mobility vet Neuman will take over day-to-day ops
NEW YORK — EchoStar has appointed Michael A. Neuman president and chief operating officer and named one of its board members, Carl Vogel, to the full-time post of vice chairman.
Neuman, most recently president of Bell Mobility, a subsidiary of Bell Canada Enterprises, will take over the day-to-day running of EchoStar.
Vogel, who previously was president-CEO of giant cable operator Charter Communications, will deal with financial and strategic matters. He’s no stranger to EchoStar, having served as president of the company from 1994-97.
Both Neuman and Vogel report to Charles Ergen, chairman-CEO of EchoStar, which now reaches more than 11.2 million satellite TV subscribers, providing them with hundreds of video and audio channels, interactive TV, high-def TV, sports and international programming.
