McG, Glenn reworking 'Dirty' for tube

McG has teamed with up-and-coming scribe John Glenn to develop a contemporary “Dirty Harry” story for Fox.

Fox has made a script commitment with a sizable penalty for the project, which was pitched with the working title “McCabe.” Project would follow the story of a school teacher who becomes a cop to pursue justice and find his wife’s killer.

Glenn will write and exec produce the project, along with McG. “McCabe” would be produced through McG’s Wonderland Sound & Vision and Warner Bros. TV, where it’s based.

Under TV topper Peter Johnson, Wonderland is already having a busy development season. The shingle recently secured a pilot commitment from the WB for the drama “Tribe,” from scribe Scott Gemmill (Daily Variety, Aug. 29).

The company is also behind the WB’s big new fall entry, the thriller “Supernatural,” and continues to produce the hit Fox drama “The OC.”
