Silverman pinned as upstart agency expands
Longtime PMK/HBH publicist Amanda Silverman has left to join the Dart Group, a move that comes as CEO Leslee Dart’s upstart agency expands into Los Angeles.
At PMK/HBH, Silverman was the publicist for Charlize Theron, Queen Latifah, Gael Garcia Bernal, Terrence Howard, Pharrell, Eve, Johnny Knoxville and Maggie Gyllenhaal, among others.
Dart and her founding partners Robert Garlock, Amanda Lundberg and Cynthia Swartz made the hire; Silverman starts today.
Dart, who opened her praisery in December, said the company now has a staff of 23. The Dart Group has also hired Scott Feinstein, who’ll join from Buena Vista’s publicity department on Oct. 31; Alex Dubee, formerly of PMK/HBH; former Miramax staffer Michael Kupferberg; and Lauren Burton, who worked for Fox Searchlight. Dubee is working with Megan Milner to staff the L.A. office that opened this month.
The Dart Group is working on campaigns for such Oscar-minded pics as the Rob Marshall-directed “Memoirs of a Geisha,” Stephen Gaghan’s “Syriana,” Susan Stroman’s “The Producers” and Woody Allen’s “Match Point.”
Already booked for 2006 are Ron Howard’s “The Da Vinci Code,” Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu’s “Babel,” Martin Scorsese’s “The Departed” and M. Night Shyamalan’s “The Lady in the Water.”
