Westminster Dog Show brings out the best

It was backstage at one of Gotham’s hottest tickets Monday night and the usual backbiting was beginning before showtime.

“She’s a red-haired bitch,” whispered one woman. Another overhead tidbit: “He’s overly cross with a lousy head.”

No, it wasn’t another night at fashion week, but the 129th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show at a sold-out Madison Square Garden. To push its upcoming toon feature “Curse of the Were-Rabbit” starring Wallace & Gromit, DreamWorks booked its top claymation dog as the official host of the event.

Cheering the pups on were guests Joan Allen, Oliver Platt and Bobby Cannavale.
