The Costume Designers Guild has revamped its top management, tapping Cheryl Downey as its executive director and hiring Rachael Stanley for the newly created post of assistant exec director.
Downey is a veteran assistant director, production manager and line producer who served on the DGA national executive board for 20 years, starting in 1985. She received the DGA’s Frank Capra Award for service to the DGA. She joined the Costume Designers Guild earlier this year.
Stanley has been a costume designer for 25 years and received three Emmy noms in the 1990s. She was named to the ATAS Executive Peer Group in 2003.
The Costume Designers Guild, which is IATSE Local 892, was established in 1953.
