Chum goes for A

World Brief

Canuck broadcaster Chum is changing the names of its five local stations in southern Ontario and its local station in British Columbia to the A-Channels in the fall.

The name change will have no effect on programming.

Chum already owns three A-Channel stations in Edmonton, Calgary and Winnipeg, picked up when it acquired Craig Media last year. As announced, those three A-Channels will become City-tv outlets in the fall, becoming sister stations to City-tv stations in Toronto and Vancouver.
