NEW YORK — “NewsNight With Aaron Brown” executive producer Sharon Van Zwieten is ankling the broadcast after a run of stagnant ratings.
Van Zwieten will be replaced by “American Morning” exec producer Wilson Surratt, a spokeswoman confirmed. No replacement has been named for Surratt on “American Morning.”
U.S. prexy Jonathan Klein announced the change to CNN staff. He’s made a remake of the cabler’s struggling primetime lineup his top priority.
“Aaron Brown” is CNN’s second-highest rated show behind “Larry King Live,” but it trails Fox News Channel’s “On the Record With Greta Van Susteren” by nearly a million viewers.
Surratt joined CNN from WPIX New York, where he worked as executive producer of “WB11 Morning News.”
