In “Brooklyn Boy,” Adam Arkin‘s character is asked if his new bestselling novel is autobiographical. At B.B. King’s on Thursday, Donald Margulies was asked the same question about his new Broadway play.
Not so, said the scribe. “None of the scenes in this play ever happened to me, but that doesn’t mean I don’t identify,” said Margulies.”Brooklyn Boy” co-star Polly Draper was at the fete with her young sons, Nat and Alex Wolff. In a case of life imitating art, the two boys are stars of their mother’s new mockumentary, “The Naked Brothers Band,” about a little-boy band that becomes as popular as the Beatles. Draper’s hoping for a debut in the fall at the Tribeca Film Festival. Regardless of the film’s reception, her kids are making it.
“Nat and Alex already have a record deal,” she said. “It’s scary.” Look for their song “Hardcore Wrestlers With Inner Feeling” to top the charts.
