AMC has greenlit production on “The Suite,” a series of interview specials hosted by Entertainment Weekly senior writer Dave Karger.
Half-hour will spotlight an upcoming theatrical release via a group interview with the film’s director and cast all in one room.
Karger, Tommy Crudup (“The Tony Danza Show”) and Julie Yaeger produce the show in association with City Lights Television.
“The Suite” will join AMC’s growing slate of inside-Hollywood originals, which include ayem gabfest “Sunday Morning Shootout” and review show “Movie Club With John Ridley.”
Production begins in the second quarter. An airdate and number of episodes are still being determined.
“How many times have you read an article, or seen a picture, with all these big stars sitting around, talking and laughing together, and you think to yourself, ‘Wow, I wish I could be in that room right now’?” City Lights prexy Dave Noll said. “We take you right inside that room.”
Karger is a regular entertainment contributor on NBC’s “Today.” He’s written for EW since 1995.
