Acquired copyrights include Aerosmith, Run DMC, Eminem

LONDON — London-based Stage Three Music has acquired the song catalog of Mosaic Music, which includes copyrights such as Aerosmith’s “Walk This Way,” ZZ Top’s “Legs” and songs recorded by Run DMC and Eminem.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Mosaic Media Group, launched in July 1999, merged film and music company Atlas Entertainment, with talent management group the Gold/Miller Co. Given the relationship between the companies, it is possible that Stage Three will work with Mosaic Media on future movie projects.

Stage Three was founded by Steve Lewis, former CEO of Chrysalis Group’s Music Division, and Ingenious Ventures, the private equity division of Ingenious Media. Following a recent deal Lewis secured more than $80 million to fund expansion.

Lionel Conway co-founder of Island Music and former president of Polygram Music will remain Mosaic’s president and will run Stage Three’s North American operations, with Mosaic’s offices in L.A. and Nashville now trading under the Stage Three banner.
