Sony BMG Music Entertainment has appointed Sofia Sondervan senior VP of feature films.
Formerly with ContentFilm, Sondervan will oversee development and production of music-related features, working with Sony BMG’s labels to identify projects for the company’s artists. Sondervan will be based at the company’s HQ in New York.
Sondervan was most recently head of East Coast production for Content, a job she held since 2001. She oversaw all aspects of development and production, and most recently exec produced “The King,” starring Gael Garcia Bernal and William Hurt.
Prior to that, she was senior VP of acquisitions and productions for Pop.com, a joint venture between DreamWorks and Imagine Entertainment, where she was responsible for all programming. From 1998 to 2000, she served as head of acquisitions for Independent Pictures, a subsid of New Line Cinema, and prior to that, was director of business affairs for Miramax Films 1995-98.
