Love turns page on Kurt

Rocker-thesp to publish Cobain 'Diaries'

Courtney Love will publish a memoir about her time with her late husband, rocker Kurt Cobain.

Book, to be published by Farrar, Straus & Giroux, will contain many previously unseen photos of Cobain and the couple’s daughter, Frances Bean. Shots are mostly candid pics with Cobain in pajamas or relaxed settings.

FSG and lit agent Vigliano Associates confirmed the deal.

Tentatively titled “The Love Diaries” will echo Cobain’s “Journals,” the posthumous collection of the grunge icon’s notes and archival material. Love will include her own story, before and after life with Cobain; book will contain narrative as well as scrapbook material. Love will work with a ghostwriter. This will mark first time Love will speak extensively in public about her late husband.

Some insiders think her choice of publisher is unusual. FSG is primarily known for literary fiction by the likes of Tom Wolfe and National Book Award nominee Chris Sorrentino, though it did release poetry by former Smashing Pumpkins front man Billy Corgan earlier this year.

Book also is expected to be sold to a U.K. publisher at the Frankfurt Book Fair, taking place this week.

Cobain’s “Journals” received a lukewarm critical reception but was a bestseller several years ago.
