Univision spins reggaeton

Gotham station targets young Spanish-lingo listeners

MIAMI — Univision Radio, a division of Spanish-lingo media group Univision Communications, on Friday launched La Kalle 105.9/92.7 FM, a youth-targeted Spanish-language radio station.

The station targets New York Hispanics in the 18-34 demo.

Format primarily features reggaeton, a dance music style that originated in Puerto Rico, and Latin hip-hop.

Reggaeton is hotter in New York than in any other major U.S. city, Univision said.
