Rock rides into ‘Hills’

Chris Rock will star in, write and co-produce “The Gilmores of Beverly Hills,” with Adam Sandler and Jack Giarraputo producing the comedy through their Happy Madison production company. Rock, who will co-write “Gilmores” with longtime scripting partner Ali LeRoi, will play a limo driver in the pic. “Gilmores” may touch some of the same turf as Fox Searchlight’s 1998 comedy “The Slums of Beverly Hills” but won’t be a remake. “Slums,” written and directed by Tamara Jenkins, was the tale of a dysfunctional family in Beverly Hills circa 1976.
