Hodge sparks to ‘Dark’

Walden Media has chosen writer John Hodge to adapt “The Dark Is Rising” based on Susan Cooper’s book series. The story centers on a boy whose life is turned upside down when he learns he’s the last of a group of immortal warriors who dedicate their lives to fighting the forces of the Dark. Hodge has been a longtime collaborator of director Danny Boyle, beginning with 1995’s “Shallow Grave” and continuing with “Trainspotting,” “A Life Less Ordinary” and “The Beach.”
