Friars of Beverly Hills renovated

Coast club is now owned by Schaeffer

The Friars of Beverly Hills–is the new title of the club–which has no ties to the venerable Friars Club of New York.

The Coast club is now owned by Darren Schaeffer with Irwin Schaeffer as president, Larry King as abbot and is now open to the general public for dinners and special events –with the provison that reservations are made with the added note, “as guest of the management.” However, non-members are not allowed above the club’s second floor dining and showroom –they are barred from the members’ private dining and cigar rooms.

The renovated club held an opening party Wednesday (Oct.19) with Jon Favreau and Larry King (with his two small children) welcoming the packed-to-the-newly decorated walls crowd.

Four, glass-enclosed go-go dancers added to the retro theme of the opener. Among first niters: Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn, Elaine and Allan Rich, Gloria Allred, George Shapiro, Judy Tenuta, Kate Linder, Larry Elder, Lauralee Bell, Carla and Shanna Ferrigno, Malcolm Jamal-Warner and Mark Moses.
