Producers wed 'Wives' tuner

Fledgling Hollywood production company Silverwood Films has signed on to co-produce the tuner version of “The First Wives’ Club.”

Silverwood’s Lynette Howell and Doug Dey join fellow producers Paul Lambert and Jonas Neilson on the long-percolating project. Holland-Dozier-Holland — the Motown songwriting team behind “Baby Love,” “You Can’t Hurry Love,” and “Stop! In the Name of Love” — will provide the original music.

The search is on for a scribe to write the book. Howell hopes for a two-year timeline, with a year to write and compose and another to workshop and revise. She anticipates capitalization will be about $12 million.

Formed just under a year ago, Silverwood Films recently wrapped production on two features: “Half Nelson,” starring Ryan Gosling, and “Stephanie Daley,” starring Tilda Swinton, Amber Tamblyn and Timothy Hutton.
