Winokur to tease 'Hairspray' auds

Marissa Jaret Winokur, Broadway’s original Tracy Turnblad, returns to “Hairspray” June 13 for a monthlong stint.

The actress won the 2003 Tony for her turn as Turnblad and left the show in August of that year. Since then, she has been seen in the movie “Fever Pitch” and sitcom “Stacked.”

Bruce Vilanch continues to essay the role of Tracy’s mother, Edna Turnblad in “Hairspray.”

Farther downtown, Martha Plimpton replaces Parker Posey in the Off Broadway revival of David Rabe’s “Hurlyburly” at 37 Arts. Posey leaves the production June 11 to film the new “Superman Returns” movie.

Plimpton’s first perf is June 14. She takes the role of the coked-up Darlene, which Sigourney Weaver originated in the 1984 world premiere at Off Broadway’s Promenade Theater.
