‘Lestat’ haunts Palace

Vampire tunes finds a home

Now that “All Shook Up” has stopped shaking, the vampire tuner “Lestat” will rise to take its place at the Palace Theater.

New musical, based on Anne Rice’s vampire tales and featuring music by Elton John and Bernie Taupin, begins previews March 11 for an April 13 opening.

Starring Hugh Panaro (“The Phantom of the Opera”), Carolee Carmello and Jack Noseworthy, “Lestat” tries out at the Curran in San Francisco Dec. 17-Jan. 29, before trying for a bite of Gotham.
