Producer Bill Kenwright has pushed back the Broadway opening of “The Glass Menagerie” to March 22.
The Tennessee Williams revival, which headlines Jessica Lange, had originally been announced to open March 15. It will now preem just two nights after “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?,” starring Kathleen Turner and Bill Irwin, opens on Broadway.
Delay for “Menagerie” helps facilitate the production’s last-minute hiring of Christian Slater, who replaces Dallas Roberts in the role of Tom.
Previews of “The Glass Menagerie” began Feb. 24, with Slater’s understudy, Joey Collins, performing the male-lead role. Slater’s first perf is March 8.
Sarah Paulson and Josh Lucas round out the cast.
