Crosby steps into ‘Follies’

Performer will replace Ziemba at Barrington Stage Co.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Kim Crosby, who played Cinderella in the original production of Broadway’s “Into the Woods,” has replaced Tony Award-winner Karen Ziemba as Sally in Stephen Sondheim’s “Follies” at Barrington Stage Company in Sheffield, Mass., June 23 to July 16.

Also featured in the cast are Jeff McCarthy (“Urinetown,” “Side Show”) as Ben, Leslie Denniston (“City of Angels”) as Phyllis and Lara Teeter (Tony nom for “On Your Toes”) as Buddy. Marni Nixon, whose singing voice was featured in the films “West Side Story,” “The King & I” and “My Fair Lady,” will play Heidi.

Artistic director Julianne Boyd (Broadway’s “Eubie!”) directs. Barrington Stage produced the world preem last summer of “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.”
