NEW YORK — Road grosses dropped 22.70% to $7,788,383 during Week 1 (May 30-June 5) mainly because the total number of shows fell. “The Producers,” “Chicago” and “Movin’ Out” went on layoff and “Big River” did not report its grosses.

“Little Shop of Horrors” returned to the boards, earning $371,210 in Detroit. “The Mambo Kings” took in $529,713 in the second week of its San Francisco pre-Broadway tryout, up from $476,351 during its first week.
