Wayne Brady has dropped out of the Los Angeles production of “Chicago the Musical” and is being replaced by Gregory Harrison.
Brady was advised by his doctor not to take part in the run due to a strained voice. Brady recently played the role of Billy Flynn for three months on Broadway and appeared in two perfs last week in Tucson. He was booked for the three-week run at the Pantages.
Harrison, who has played the role in the national touring company for more than a year, will star opposite Patti LaBelle. His Broadway credits include “Steel Pier” and the recent revival of “Follies,” co-starring Blythe Danner and Treat Williams. He will continue in the role on the national tour as planned.
