Comedy of errors "My Wife's First Lover" is a minor but watchable film filled with classical ingredients such as infidelities and children born out of wedlock. Domestic box office should be only fair, with pic's future in other countries uncertain.

Vivi (Marika Lagercrantz) and Magnus (Mikael Samuelsson) have been married for 25 years and have two kids. Vivi works at a publishing company. When her plans to attend a book fair in Italy are cancelled by her boss, a disappointed Vivi calls ex-lover Robert (Philip Zanden), a famous painter with a pregnant wife. Meanwhile, one of Magnus’ ’70s rock band’s old songs has been turned into a rap hit by female singer Q-Tee (Melinda Wrede), and when Q-Tee decides to meet Magnus at the same flat where Vivi and Robert are busy making up for lost years, the stage is set for a series of painful revelations and complications. Although lacking in excitement cinematically, pic is brought alive by the performers including Lagercrantz, who is always a treat to watch. The biggest surprise is the assured perf delivered by Wrede, a rap singer making her feature debut.
