WB adds voice in Mexico

Warner negotiating 'Radicales' deal

Warner Bros. Pictures Mexico has hired Leonardo Zimbron as director of local production, overseeing local-language operations in Mexico.

Warner is negotiating a deal to co-produce “Radicales Libres” with Videocine and Traziende Producciones. Issa Lopez (“Ladies’ Night”) penned the script and will direct the pic. Zimbron will shepherd this project, scheduled to begin production this year.

Warner Bros. Pictures Mexico plans to develop and co-produce films in Mexico through its own development activities and in conjunction with Alfonso Cuaron’s Besame Mucho.

Zimbron is the former general manager of Traziende. He has also collaborated with production and distribution entities such as Argos and Buena Vista as well as government agencies such as Fedicine, Imicine and Cuec. He reports to Juan Manuel Borbolla, general manager of Warner Bros. Pictures Mexico.
