Higman's singing to the tune of senior veep music
Longtime film soundtrack exec Darren Higman has joined Warner Bros. Pictures as senior VP of music, responsible for providing supervision on all film music.
Higman joins the studio from Warner Music Group, which Time Warner sold in early 2004. He had served as senior VP of soundtracks at WMG since October 2004.
He will report to Warner Bros. Pictures president of music operations Doug Frank.
“We’ve known Dan for quite a while; he’s a great mix of broad musical knowledge,” Frank said.
Prior to joining Warner Music Group, Higman worked at MCA Records and then at Atlantic Records, a division of Warner Music, overseeing the production and marketing of numerous soundtracks.
Upon leaving Atlantic in 2002, Higman independently worked on soundtracks including “Shark Tale” and “Spider-Man 2.” In January 2003 he partnered with Laura Wasserman to form WH Entertainment, a music supervising company.
