Touchstone Pictures has locked up romantic comedy pitch “The Theory of Everything” from scribe Pierce Gardner, with Jon Shestack on board to produce.
Story centers on a set of separated parents who seem to disagree about everything, except for their opinion of their son’s new fiancée. As they try to break up the couple, they rediscover why opposites attract.
At Touchstone, the project is being overseen by Brad Epstein. Ginny Brewer was responsible for bringing the project into Jon Shestack Prods. Shestack will produce “Everything” with Noah Rosen serving as exec producer.
Gardner, Shestack and Rosen are already in business on “Dan in Real Life” for Disney, with Steve Carell on board to star and Peter Hedges to direct. That project is due to go before cameras in May.
