‘Spear’ finds target

U.K.-based AV Pictures has picked up worldwide rights outside North America to adventure drama “End of the Spear” from Christian production company Every Tribe Entertainment. Indie distrib M Power Releasing will open the film, which tells the true story of five American missionaries killed by an Ecuadorian tribe in 1956, on 1,200 screens in the U.S. on Jan. 20.

Every Tribe, based in Oklahoma City and L.A., was founded by Chris-tian retail magnate Mart Green. “End” marks the company’s first feature.
