‘Skin’ appeal draws film nod

Quebecois filmmaker Daniel Roby has won the Claude Jutra Award for first film for the thriller “White Skin,” the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television announced Monday.

Kudos will be handed out during the Genie Awards Gala on Monday in Toronto. “White Skin” is also nominated for adapted screenplay.

The screenplay about a love story with a twist was penned by Roby and Joel Champetier based on Champetier’s novel.
