NEW YORK — The San Francisco Film Society has appointed Graham Leggat as its executive director, beginning Oct. 17.
Leggat comes aboard as the society gears up for the 50th anni of the San Francisco Film Festival in 2007.
Director of communications for the Film Society of Lincoln Center since 1999, Leggat was responsible for publicity and marketing of its year-round calendar and was also associate publisher of Film Comment magazine.
Leggat is also a columnist for the New York Daily News and a contributing editor at Filmmaker magazine. Prior to Lincoln Center, he served stints as assistant director in the department of communications at the Museum of Modern Art and program director of the Gen Art Film Festival.
