“Resident Evil: Apocalypse” has won the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television Golden Reel Award for top-grossing Canadian film of the year, with C$6 million ($4.8 million).

The producers will receive the honor, announced Monday, at the Genie Film Awards in Toronto on March 21.

Milla Jovovich starrer is eligible as it was distributed by Canuck firm Alliance Atlantis and produced by Canuck Don Carmody, among others.

“Resident Evil: Apocalypse” is also nominated for overall sound and sound editing.
