Post house expands Gotham Playground

Facilities to be completed by year's end

Gotham post-production house Creative Mega Playground, formerly Post Production Playground, has expanded to a facility in the West Village with backing from Brazilian Estudios Mega.

The space, dubbed Village Mega Playground, is located at 609 Greenwich St. and will the give company 45,000 more square feet of work space, in addition to its longtime midtown branch.

The facilities, already in use, will be entirely completed by year’s end, and are being designed by Walters-Storyk Design Group. Company founder Eitan Hakami said the downtown space was already at 90% capacity, without a marketing push on Playground’s part.

CMP also has launched CMP-TV, a co-venture with Joe Dinki and Cleve Keller, to produce unscripted television programs, and already has deals with VH1 and A&E. Shows being developed include “Upstage,” which goes behind the scenes of Broadway musicals, “Crusades” about volunteerism, and docu “Gaza: Preparing for Disengagement.”

CMP was created in July 1994 and has done work on films including “Spider-Man 2,” “The Stepford Wives” and “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.”
