Koltai-Levine, O'Connor to head up staff

NEW YORK — Further ramping up its operations, Picturehouse, the recently launched joint venture of New Line and HBO, has unveiled a marketing and PR staff to work under exec veeps of marketing Marian Koltai-Levine and Dennis O’Connor.

Moves combine staffers at New Line’s Fine Line banner and Newmarket Films, the imprints merged to form Picturehouse.

Former Fine Line exec Nina Baron has been tapped senior veep of national publicity, while fellow Fine Line exec Jennifer Stott becomes senior VP of publicity and promotions.

Newmarket’s Mary Ann Hult has been upped to veep of national publicity.

The three execs are based in Gotham.

Baron and Stott joined Fine Line in 1996 and worked on campaigns for pics including “Shine,” “The Sweet Hereafter” and “Deconstructing Harry” as well as more recent titles including HBO’s “American Splendor” and “Elephant.” Both previously reported to Koltai-Levine, who was exec veep of marketing for Fine Line.

Hult comes to Picturehouse from Newmarket, where she was director of publicity, working on pics including “The Woodsman” and “Downfall.” Before Newmarket, she was VP of national publicity at United Artists.

Also, Newmarket’s Molly Albright has been named veep of creative advertising. She was previously Newmarket’s director of marketing and post-production.

Fine Line director of publicity and promotions Veronica Bufalini has been named director of West Coast publicity and will relocate from Gotham to L.A.

Newmarket’s Courtney Tauber and Elizabeth Brambilla have been named managers of field operations and promotions. Newmarket’s Stefan Zorich will serve as manager of creative services for the new entity.

“We could not be more pleased about how the team is shaping up,” said Picturehouse head Bob Berney, formerly prexy and partner at Newmarket. “It is a true merging of talent.”

Picturehouse’s upcoming slate includes the Paul Reiser-penned “The Thing About My Folks” and Nicole Kidman starrer “Fur.”
