MTV Networks has named Markus Andorfer program director of its new Nick tyke channel, to launch Sept. 12.
Andorfer has been consulting on Nick’s launch since the beginning of the year.
He will report to Catherine Muehlemann, managing director, MTV networks and emerging markets.
Andorfer was programming director at Austrian cable channel ATV Plus before ankling in 2004.
Janine Weigold will be responsible for programming acquisitions.
Nick will be marketed by Viacom’s new sales division, Viacom Brand Solutions, which coordinates advertising for its four local channels.
Group took over German music broadcasters Viva and Viva Plus in ’04 year and merged them with its MTV operations.
Nick replaces MTV2 Pop, giving Viacom three analog cable music webs in Germany.
MTV also is restructuring channel management.
Sigrid Hohner, formerly MTV head of editorial, will oversee MTV; Susanne Wiesner, former head of development and acquisitions at MTV, takes the reins at Viva; and Stefan Kauertz, former Viva program director, will steer Viva Plus. They all report to MTV Networks program director Elmar Giglinger.
Anke Greifeneder, in charge of program acquisitions and development at MTV Networks, will add the Viva channels to her duties.
