Moving fete set for Howard

Helmer honored at museum's annual salute

NEW YORK — The Museum of the Moving Image will fete Ron Howard at its 21st annual black-tie salute Dec. 4 in the Waldorf-Astoria’s Grand Ballroom.

Bravo will tape the soiree and air it at some later date.

Evening will consist of clips from Howard’s career and words from friends and co-workers. Speakers will be determined closer to the event.

Past recipients include John Travolta, Dustin Hoffman, Julia Roberts, Mel Gibson, Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese and Barbara Walters.
