Mandeville’s in ‘Heaven’

Glenn to direct thriller

Mandeville Films will produce “The Heaven Project” for the D.H. Blair Film Capital Fund.

Written and to be directed by John Glenn, thriller follows a reformed criminal who wants to be reunited with his family. Armada Pictures Intl. handles international sales and will debut the project in Cannes.

Mandeville’s David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman produce the pic with Travis Wright. Evan Astrowsky is co-producer. “The Heaven Project” is currently casting for a September start.

Pic will mark Glenn’s directorial debut. With Wright, he is writing an untitled thriller for DreamWorks and producers Kurtzman/Orci. Wright and Glenn also sold the pitch “Radiant” to Sony (McG is producing) in addition to penning remakes of “Clash of the Titans” for Warner Bros. Pictures and “The Warriors” for Paramount.

Mandeville is in post on Disney’s “The Shaggy Dog,” starring Tim Allen, and “Five Fingers,” starring Laurence Fishburne and Ryan Phillippe, for Element Films. It is filming “Antarctica” for Disney; Paul Walker stars. Mandeville also produces the USA Network’s “Monk.”

The D.H. Blair fund was established last year by Wall Street exec J. Morton Davis and producer Michael Almog. Davis owns and is chairman of D.H. Blair Investment Banking Corp. Fund is in production on horror pic “Drive Thru,” which Lions Gate Films will distribute in the U.S.
