Lee’s films to unspool in Colombo

World Brief

The works of U.S. filmmaker Spike Lee are to be screened at a four-day festival in the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo to mark Black History Month, the U.S. embassy said.

The festival, held annually to recognize contributions of African-Americans to their country’s history, will feature “Do the Right Thing,” “School Daze,” “Jungle Fever” and “Malcolm X.”

The embassy believes the films, to be screened between Feb. 10 and 14, will find a strong audience in ethnically divided Sri Lanka.
