Jonathan Krane, the exec producer of “Face/Off,” “Primary Colors” and “Basic,” is forming the Krane Academy of Motion Pictures in Palm Beach County, Fla.

Venture will launch early next year and aims to educate filmmakers in both business and filmmaking.

Krane Academy says each of its students will graduate with a full producer credit on a feature that will be produced by the school and marketed to distribs.

The 20-month certificate program is based on Krane’s textbook “A Revolutionary Approach to the Art and Science of Moviemaking: A Treatise of Fixing the Accidental Industry.”

“The Krane Academy will become a source of talented producers that will help the Florida film industry and stay in this community,” Krane said.

Krane added that he will work with the Palm Beach County Film Commission and Palm Beach Intl. Film Fest to raise the profile and recognition of southern Florida as a viable option for feature film productions.

Krane Academy was formerly based as Lynn U. in Boca Raton, Fla.
