Korean films took the top honors at the five-day Asia Pacific Film Festival in Kuala Lumpur, which ended Sunday, but there was an encouraging haul for local Malaysian titles, too.

“Tae guk gi,” the biggest-grossing Korean film of all time, took honors for best film and for helmer Kang Je Gyu. South Korea’s Joo Hyun was voted actor for his role in “The Family.” Malaysia’s Tiara Jacquelina was named actress for “Puteri gunung ledang.”

Screenplay: Lin Cheng Sheng (“The Moon Also Rises”), Taiwan
Supporting Actor: Anthony Wong (“Initial D”), Hong Kong
Supporting Actress: Rima Melati (“Ungu violet”), Indonesia
