Kadokawa Pix in dual development

Ramras will share feature duties with Kushman

Kadokawa Pictures USA has tapped Golan Ramras co-director of development, working in tandem with Elizabeth Kushman, who has been upped from creative executive.

In addition to sharing feature development duties with Kushman, Ramras will coordinate PR activities and oversee television development.

Ramras was the creative exec for Doug Liman’s Hypnotic banner. He handled a variety of TV and film projects, as well as bringing comedy drama “Heist,” from Robb and Mark Cullen (“Lucky”), to the company through a collaboration with Peter Safran of Brillstein-Grey. Project has gone on to become a co-production between NBC Universal Television and Sony Pictures Television, to be directed by Liman (“Mr. & Mrs. Smith”).

Ramras is also the co-founder of the Phoenix Film Festival, now in its sixth year, as well as a manager at the Telluride Film Festival.

Former Kadokawa story editor Danielle Reardon is being upped to creative exec.

All report to Kadokawa Pictures USA co-heads Lauren C. Weissman and Jennie Lew Tugend.

Kadokawa Pictures USA is the Los Angeles-based arm of international multimedia empire Kadokawa Holdings, which includes Kadokawa Pictures, Daiei Film Studios and distributor Asmik Ace.
