Columbia Pictures has picked up the comedy pitch “Moi” for studio-based Hal Lieberman Co. to produce.
Described as being in the vein of Jim Carrey starrers “Liar, Liar” and “Bruce Almighty,” “Moi” centers on a man who is convinced that the world would be a better place if everybody acted just like him.
Josh Lobis and Darin Moiselle will write. Lieberman, who brought the pitch to Columbia’s production toppers Matt Tolmach and Doug Belgrad, will produce. Lieberman Co. executive Michael Converse will oversee for his company and at the studio; senior VP Jonathan Krauss will shepherd.
The Lieberman Co. has a first-look deal with Columbia and is partnering with the studio on “Big Man on Campus” and “Grandpa.” Lobis and Moiselle penned the upcoming Matthew McConaughey starrer “Dear Delilah” for Paramount Pictures.
