Icon ex-CEO at Capitol

Hill takes over for Harel

HOLLYWOOD — Icon Entertainment’s former CEO Nick Hill is joining Capitol Films as joint managing director with Jane Barclay and Hannah Leader.

He takes over from Sharon Harel, who will remain principal shareholder and co-chair of the board, but will play a less active role in the day-to-day running of London-based Capitol beginning Jan. 1.

“I have known Sharon, Jane and Hannah for many years and have always admired the way they have built their company,” Hill said.

Founded in May 1989 by Harel and Barclay, Capitol has become one of Europe’s leading international film production, financing and sales companies.

It has handled worldwide distribution of more than 100 films, the majority of which it has financed or co-financed.

Hill ankled Icon in April, reportedly due to a strategic disagreement with Icon Entertainment topper Bruce Davey.
