Humanitas deadline nears

There is no submission fee

HOLLYWOOD — Friday is the submission deadline for the 31st annual Humanitas Prize.

A total of $115,000 in cash prizes will be awarded to the winners, recognized for “humanizing achievements” in film and TV writing. Past honorees include Tony Kushner (“Angels in America”), Steven Zaillian (“Schindler’s List”) and Kenneth Lonergan (“You Can Count on Me”).

To qualify, scripts must have been telecast or released between April 2, 2004, and April 1, 2005. Feature films must have screened in at least 60 U.S. markets or at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival.

There is no submission fee or limit to the number of submissions. Applications can be retrieved by calling (310) 454-8769 or at
